Starting today, I plan to postpone the column on battery production. I hope it will help many people. First topic is that battery manufacturing. [today is 1-1]
There are many discussions to secure the competitiveness of the Lithium ion battery and solid state battery. However, some of these discussions are not included one of key point. It is battery manufacturing technology. Eventually, the key to success will be victory or defeat in battery manufacturing technology. As you know, more than 90 percent of the world's battery manufacturing are currently monopolized by certain companies. What these companies have in common is that they have studied production technology for a long time. The structure of the battery we know is simple. However, there are many know-how hidden that is difficult to obtain in a day for mass production technology. These companies tried to learn technology by themselves and learn the technology know-how of different the other companies. To do this, they firstly do adopt advanced technology equipment. After using stable producing equipment, their process engineers and equipment vendor engineers have improved the manufacturing technology for a long time in repeat. The battery you know now a days is the result of at least 15 years of technology integration. There are companies nearby that has been scrambling to produce batteries since a few years ago. The biggest reason why they can't produce smoothly still is that they haven't purchased the right equipment and still don't know much about long-term technology.
